Count pairs rather than vague units

State the number of pairs needed and confirm the supplier’s selling unit. A pack can contain more than one pair, so a quantity without a unit can create a mismatch. Keep employee allocation and spare quantities separate so the total can be checked before the order is approved.

Use the actual size range

Collect requirements against the listed size options for the chosen mining socks or work socks. Do not assume one range fits every wearer. If the size information is missing or ambiguous, ask for clarification before gathering the final allocation. A product image is not a substitute for a size specification.

Keep the selected product identifiable

Record the complete product name or reference, colour and any supplied material details. This makes repeat enquiries clearer and avoids substituting a different boot sock without review. If the original item becomes unavailable, compare the proposed alternative with the actual requirement rather than just its price.

Plan receiving and issue

Provide the receiving location and any department or branch split. Ask whether packing by size is available if that would help distribution. Keep the quantity schedule with the delivery record so discrepancies can be identified before the socks are issued to staff.

Retain care and replacement information

Pass the manufacturer’s care instructions to the people receiving the product. The organisation should decide how replacement needs are reported and assessed. A catalogue does not establish a universal service life or number of pairs per employee, so those choices should reflect the actual workwear programme.
